A Small Production Unit is a energy productionFacility for the production of electricity from renewable sources, such as photovoltaic solar energy, intended mainly for the sale of energy to the electricity grid (and not for self-consumption).

Renewable source: usually solar, but it can also be wind, hydro or biomass.

Installed Power:
up to 1 MW (1,000 kW).

Main objective: sale of the energy produced to the electricity grid, under a defined remuneration regime.

Requires specific licensing: it is necessary to register on the DGEG (Directorate-General for Energy and Geology) portal and comply with technical and legal requirements
